Distillery Information
“Miltonduff Distillery, founded 1824 near Elgin by Peary & Bain on historic grounds, became a crucial part of Ballantine’s blend, owned by Hiram Walker, then Allied Domecq, and now Pernod Ricard. Known for its fruity, elegant Speyside profile, it was a major producer, once even distilling the unique Mosstowie single malt in Lomond stills before returning to traditional stills in the 1980s. Today, it’s a large, vital Speyside component, mainly for blends, with some independent bottlings appearing.”
